What can I do?

Firstly, we really appreciate your support. Below is some generic information, and some more targeted suggestions for specific groups of people are linked above.

1. Make as much noise as you can.

   • Share this website widely. Tell everyone you can.

   • Do not let the university spin their PR line unchallenged.

   • Even if you are not in Leicester: this is coming to universities near you.
     

2. Email your MP: https://www.writetothem.com/

   • Tell them that you think it is a shameful waste of taxpayer's money that our student's debts are being used to prop-up inflated and underperforming management structures.

   • Tell them that you think universities should not be run like corporations - expanding and contracting at the whims of a false 'market'.

   • Tell them that you want your money to support genuine research and teaching excellence in UK universities. Not vanity projects and boardroom extravagance.

   • Tell them that we need a genuinely educated workforce. A genuine education is more than just the bit of paper saying 'degree' on it.

   • Tell them that the decline in UK universities must be arrested before there is nothing left to save.

3. Speak up: loudly!

   • Universities survive on reputation.

   • Reputation is built by us: the students and staff. Not by management.

   • If enough of us speak up, we can stop this in its tracks.
